Making a new application for permission to come to the UK from 25 February 2026

Posted On Friday, January 30, 2026

From 25 February 2026, applicants who successfully apply for a visit visa and certain other visa categories—including Seasonal Worker, Overseas Domestic Worker, Direct Airside Transit, and EU Settlement Scheme family permits—may no longer receive a vignette (visa sticker) in their passport. This is due to the transition to eVisas, which are digital records of an individual’s identity and immigration status.

Instead, applicants will be required to create a UKVI account and access their eVisa to view the permission granted prior to travelling to the UK. Further instructions will be provided at the time the visa decision is issued.

GOV.UK provides further information on eVisas.
