US Embassy updates visa rules to reduce wait times

Posted On Thursday, December 19, 2024

Effective January 1, 2025, the US Embassy in India will introduce new rules for scheduling and rescheduling nonimmigrant visa appointments.

In a statement, the embassy explained that these changes aim to ensure fair access to visa interview slots and reduce wait times.

Applicants will be allowed one reschedule without extra charges. However, if they miss the rescheduled appointment or need a second reschedule, they must book a new appointment and pay the application fee again.

These adjustments are designed to streamline the process and make securing appointments quicker and more efficient for everyone.
