This type of visa is usually granted for the following activities:
- Tourism;

- To join aircraft or vessel as part of its crew and
- Travelers transiting through Brazilian airports to other countries, whenever the onward flight is booked under a separate ticket and/or different code.
Visitor Visas are also granted in the additional following cases:

Observation: the visa holder must not engage in remunerated work in Brazil (receive payment in exchange of work from a Brazilian tax identification number) and the activities must not exceed 90 days.
Extensions (in Brazil only): up to a further 90 days, adding up to a maximum of 180 days in any twelve-month period. Those willing to extend their stay should apply for extension at the closest offices of the Brazilian Federal Police

- Hotel reservation or similar document. Where appropriate, invitation letter from the company or organiser of the event.
- Minors: Visa Authorization Form, signed by both parents and notarised. If the minor is travelling alone in Brazil, a Travel Authorization Form, signed by both parents, notarized and apostilled by the MEA, is also required.
For purposes other than tourism, such as conferences, seminars or participation in tournaments, the following documents must be submitted in addition:
a) If you are going to attend a conference as a spectator, or an open tournament as an amateur athlete or artist, in addition to all of the above mentioned documents, you must submit a proof of registration: hard copy of the confirmation that you have signed up to attend the event.
b) If you have been invited to attend a conference as a speaker, or a competition as a professional athlete/artist, and you are not going to receive any proceeds from a Brazilian source, in addition to all of the above mentioned documents, you must submit a signed invitation letter issued by the event’s organizer. This document must provide detailed information about the event, including:
- Name of the institution organizing the event;
- Name(s) of the person(s) in charge of the event organization in Brazil, including phone number(s), position(s) and e-mail(s), in case further information is deemed necessary;
- Type/description of event;
- Dates and venue where the event will take place;
- Terms of your participation in the event.
Important observation
The original documents must be presented at the consular section, along with a copy of the online confirmation page (RER confirmation page) and proof of payment.
Visas should only be submitted after receiving an e-mail confirmation and due instructions from the consular section of the Embassy.
The Embassy may request additional information/documentation or an interview (at the Embassy or via Skype or WhatsApp) with the applicant, as deemed necessary.
Processing time is 15 working days.

The bank transfer should be made directly from the applicant's own personal bank account, not from the agent's account or another third party's account. Any transfer or deposit method that does not indicate the applicant's NAME in the Embassy's bank account cannot be accepted for the payment of consular fees. If any credit is made without the identification of the applicant by NAME, the service will not be performed and the amount cannot be refunded.

Citizens of countries with no visa exemption agreements with Brazil, in possession of separate tickets, stopping over in Brazil on their way to a final destination (having to leave the transit zone), must hold a transit visa.
Visas remain unnecessary for nationals of countries with visa exemption agreements, regardless of the type of ticket.
If you do not qualify for visa exemption, please verify your ticket.
If you have one single ticket, under a single booking reference, stating both the origin and the final destination, regardless of multiple stopovers or multiple carriers, and as long as you remain in the transit zone, you do not require a transit visa. If you have separate tickets for inbound and outbound flights, a transit visa is required.

Valid for up to 90 days, not extendable, applicable for multiple entries.

Application to be submitted by the Brazilian company to the Brazilian Ministry of Justice. After granted, the authorization from the Ministry of Justice is valid for 6 months.
- Work under a Brazilian-ruled employment contract approved by the Ministry of Labor;
- Local provision of services of any nature, including any training, technical assistance and transfer of technology, in any duration;
- Provision of services to a Brazilian government agency/organization under a contract or an international agreement;
- Employees of foreign corporations to work as trainees or interns at their subsidiaries in Brazil, as well as intra-company or intra-conglomerate professional training or professional exchange program;
- Post graduate students seeking short term professional training during school holidays or vacation, without a formal employment relationship with a Brazilian company;
- Scientists, researchers, professors, technicians to work with public or private entities, educational entities or science/technology entities;
- Instructors or professors traveling to Brazil to teach a foreign language;
- Professional athletes;
- Crew member of a foreign tourism vessel operating in Brazilian waters, without local contract;
- Crew member of fishing vessel operating in Brazilian waters, chartered by a Brazilian company;
- Crew member of vessel or platform operating in Brazilian waters as the result of a lease contract with a Brazilian company;
- Professionals without a work contract with a Brazilian company travelling to Brazil to perform studies and/or research regarding the preparation of bidding proposals for train lines.
The application procedure is initiated in Brazil by the Brazilian sponsoring company with submission of the pertinent application and supporting documents to the Brazilian Ministry of JUSTICE. The Embassy will only issue visas for permits that have been pre-approved by the Ministry of Justice.
Within 90 days of entry in Brazil, holders of this type of visa must register at the Federal Police and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Embassy.

- If you have one single ticket, under a single booking reference, stating both the origin and the final destination, regardless of multiple stopovers or multiple carriers, and as long as you remain in the transit zone, you do not require a transit visa.
- If you have separate tickets for inbound and outbound flights, a transit visa is required.

ALL WORK VISA APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN BRAZIL BY THE BRAZILIAN COMPANY. THE CONSULATE WILL ONLY ISSUE VISAS PRE-APPROVED BY THE MINISTRY OF LABOR.
- The application procedure is initiated in Brazil by the Brazilian sponsoring company with submission of the pertinent application and supporting documents to the Brazilian Ministry of Labor.
- Within 90 days of entry in Brazil, holders of this type of visa must register at the Federal Police and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Consulate.
